EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OFFICER
THE ORGANISATION:
AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity based in Blackrock,
Co.Dublin. AsIAm is a fast paced, growing organisation with a vision
to create a society where every autistic person is accepted “as they
are” – equal, valued and respected. The organisation’s purpose
is to advocate for an inclusive society for autistic people that is
accessible, accepted and affirming. AsIAm works to support the
Autistic community and our families to fully engage in Irish life and
build the capacity of society to facilitate true inclusion.
THE ROLE:
AsIAm is seeking an Employment and Training Officer, who will play an
integral role within the Adult Support and Employment department. The
role reports directly to the Head of Adult Support and Employment.
This role is best suited to someone who is familiar with issues facing
the Autistic community and has experience in the area of training.
They would be comfortable liasing with corporate clients and promoting
AsIAm’s services and supports.
A core aspect of the role will focus on identifying businesses through
leads generated internally and externally, building relationships with
key personnel within these organisations and supporting them towards
becoming more inclusive.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support the design and implementation of a pilot programme which
supports inclusive employment opportunities for autistic adults
* Support the overall development of AsIAm’s Employment Programme
* Provide direction and support to autistic candidates seeking
employment
* Liaise with the Training Team in providing employment support and
consultancy services to employers who are interested in recruiting and
supporting autistic talent
* Develop and deliver training for companies on how to recruit and
support Autistic staff (AsIAm Digital Badges)
* Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders, communities,
businesses (including Communities of Practice), and the autism
community
* Co-ordinate AsIAm Communities of Practice and events
* Participate in company projects and collaborations with other
companies
* Deliver careers workshops with HEI students
* Develop an internship and graduate programme between HEI’s and
companies
* Sign-up two companies a month for full training, accreditation and
AsIAm Digital Badge package
* Monitor both successes and challenges and prepare comprehensive
reports for the Head of Adult Support & Employment
* Provide regular updates to the Head of Adult Support &
Employment/CEO as required
* Participate in the overall team to ensure collaborative teamwork
and support other team members as required
* Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager on new companies
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree level qualification in a related profession
* * years-experience in training development
and delivery
* Willingness to travel
* Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
* Previous sales/promotions experience would be advantageous
* Previous work experience in the Autism or Disability sector is an
advantage but not essential.
CONTRACT DURATION:
This is an initial 1-year contract with the potential to extend.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
AsIAm will offer a salary and benefits commensurate with the AsIAm pay
scale and experience.
In addition to annual leave, the company traditionally offers
additional paid time off (company days) including a Christmas office
closure period. This is sanctioned annually at the discretion of
management.
WORKING HOURS:
The role is Monday to Friday, 9: * am to
5: * pm.
The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility regarding
working hours with the expectation of some evening and weekend work.
LOCATION:
The role is based in AsIAm HQ in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Remote working
agreements can be requested and are at the discretion of the line
manager.
